Mike McKenna Paratus Head of School

Staff P. Dollins

Head of School

Mike McKenna has been in the field of Christian education his entire professional life, having become a teaching headmaster soon after graduating from Montclair State College in 1984. He and his wife, Christine, were married in 1989 while he was teaching at a Christian school in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington D.C.  Soon after, he took the headmaster position at Trinity Christian School in Statesboro, Georgia, where he built the school from a small, K-6 school, to a much larger K-12 institution.  While at Trinity, he discovered classical Christian education, and determined that this was the missing piece, the part of the educational “puzzle” he was missing. So he moved to the Annapolis, Maryland area, where he took on the position of headmaster of Rockbridge Academy. In 2000 when he arrived, Rockbridge was a K-8 school seeking to build the high school program, which it did over the next four years. Today, Rockbridge Academy is one of the model classical Christian schools in the nation.  Mike spent fifteen years at Rockbridge before moving to Houston where he now serves as Head of school at Paratus.  Christine and Mike have five children and three grandchildren.
