Head of School - Pam Dollins is a co-founder of Paratus, has a B.S. from the University of Houston-Downtown. Prior to entering Classical University-Model® Education, she was a consultant for families, hospitals, and school districts around the country, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorders, primarily focused on Verbal Behavior through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis. She is the mother of nine children ranging in age from babies to teens, she is also a speaker at numerous events, conferences, and seminars, writer, and bible study teacher at her church.
Dean of Family Ministry - Robert Hurley received his B.S. degree from Baylor University and his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary. He also spent a year doing post graduate work at the National University of Ireland. Robert has served as an assistant principal, chaplain, teacher, and coach at the high school level. He has also served as a student pastor and an associate pastor. Robert feels called to nurture and encourage others’ faith in Christ and has enjoyed God’s faithfulness in the journey of over thirty years of ministry. He and his wife Tricia, a native Houstonian, have five children ages eighteen to eight.
Director of Spring Branch Campus - Erin Bishop - Erin has a B.A. from Baylor University. She has taught in education for many years and is a Region IV certified educator. Erin is passionate about Christian Classical University-Model® education and is a parent of three children including two current Paratus students. Erin and her husband have been a charter family and essential to the development of Paratus Classical Academy through their service and leadership.
Dean of Logic & Rhetoric Athletics and Business Operations - Beau Dollins is a co-founder of Paratus, has a B.B.A., an M.B.A. , an Entrepreneur's Master Program Certificate from MIT, is an SPHR, and more importantly a Father of nine and Husband of sixteen years. He assists in a number of facets at Paratus, but mainly focuses on athletics and the business/facility operations of the school. He is a life-long Houstonian who also has several other business interests and he serves in the Children's ministry and as a Deacon at his church.
Dean of PreGrammar & Grammar Athletics - Nathan Adair earned a BBA from Baylor University and an MBA from University of Westminster in London. He spent 4 years working for a Houston-based recruiting firm followed by several years as a self-employed technical recruiter. He has served on the board of Peace Gospel International for 4 years and on a variety of committees through the Baylor Alumni Association and Greater Houston Partnership. Nathan is married to Lindsay and they have 3 children - Emerson, Payton, and Cole (All Panthers!). They have been a part of the Paratus community since 2013 and love seeing what God is doing in the life of the school and in each individual student. The Adairs are active in West University Baptist Church and enjoy working with the Children's Ministry through Sunday School, Awanas, and VBS. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring all Houston has to offer, and traveling.
Academic & Campus Support - Jaclyn Peschke has a degree in Economics from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining Paratus, she worked in a wealth management firm as a back office manager. She and her husband have two handsome boys and love traveling as a family. When she has free time, Jaclyn enjoys reading, coffee dates with friends, and exercise.
Coordinator of Admissions- Bethany Kunesh graduated in 2010 from Texas A&M University with a degree in mechanical engineering. She spent the following 5 years working as a design engineer in drilling and spent time abroad in California and Aberdeen, Scotland. When her son was born. she took the opportunity to change career paths and joined the office staff at Paratus. Bethany enjoys spending with her family, cool weather, and dancing.
PRE - GRAMMAR TEAM
Chelsea Wrobel, Department Head, is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree focus in Youth Development. She is a loving wife and mother to husband, Kevin, and son, Everett. She loves pouring into the next generation through her work at Paratus and, prior to that, with youth in the non-profit sector.
Christina Killion completed her B.S in Education from the University of Texas with a minor in History and a specialization in Reading. She has five boys ranging from kindergarten to college. Christina enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking and being outdoors in her spare time.
Penelope Elery spent the four years as a Kindergarten teaching assistant at Calgary Christian Academy in Alberta, spending a lot of time working with special needs children. She attended Indiana Vocational Technical College. She is married with one child, and her husband's career has taken her family to several countries, the past 13 years were spent in the oil fields of Northern Alberta, Canada. Her hobbies includes reading, exercising, traveling and playing fun games with her family.
Eunice Shih graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in early childhood through 6th grade education. She was a Pre-K teacher at Sonshine School in College Station for a year before joining Paratus. She enjoys baking, lettering, trying new types of food, and going on adventures.
Melissa Favre grew up in New Orleans and graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. After graduation, she moved to Houston and began teaching Kindergarten. She taught Kindergarten for eight years and then taught PreK 4 for two years in public schools. At a local private preschool, she was a curriculum coordinator and PreK 3/4 teacher. She has also taught Baby Sign Language classes. She is married to Chris and has three children, two of which are school age and attend Paratus.
Alisa Bennett earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University in 2006. She taught first graders, as well as special needs children, in the Dallas area for several years before her and her husband, Caleb, moved to Houston for his work. They have both continued teaching and loving children through the Children’s Ministry at their church. Mrs. Bennett has three wonderful daughters (Addison, Hadley and Olivia) who attend Paratus as well.
Leah Deegan grew up here in Houston and graduated from Baylor University. She is a Texas certified teacher who taught at Second Baptist for 5 years prior to having kids. Her husband, Joe, is an Logic & Rhetoric teacher at Paratus. He is also a full time musician who serves at Christ the King Presbyterian on Sundays and also performs concerts around Houston. Together they have 3 children - Will, Sam, and Ellie. Leah has a passion for teaching children in a Christian environment and loves the opportunity to teach and love on second graders at Paratus! Leah loves spending time with family and friends. Leah and Joe both love playing basketball, baking desserts, and singing songs!
Jessica Weatherford earned her Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas in 2010. She has taught in both charter and public schools and is so grateful for the opportunity to teach at Paratus, where Christ is kept at the center. She has been married to her husband, Keith, for three years and they have one son, Joshua. Jessica loves to travel and has lived abroad in Costa Rica and South Korea.
Jennifer Brown, Department Head, has seven years of teaching experience. Her teaching experience ranges from 2nd through 4th grade, with the majority of her years spent teaching 4th grade math and science. She attended Sam Houston State University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2009 with an emphasis on Elementary Education. She has her ESL and GT certifications. She has been married for seven years to her high school sweetheart, Andrew, and has a very charismatic 2 year old toddler, Elliott. She enjoys reading, playing sports, and spending time with her family.
LOGIC & RHETORIC TEAM
Latiné Stacy has been teaching off and on since 2008 when she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Spanish and business. Latané has a love of cultures and languages and originally taught English in Spain for a year to middle and high school aged students. She returned to the states and taught 6th and 7th grade Spanish for two years along with coaching track & field and soccer to 8th grade students at Presbyterian School in Houston. She and her husband, Broun, moved to Boston from 2012 to 2014 for Broun to complete his masters of divinity at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Latané was a rower at UT and has played soccer and other sports throughout her life, so she loves any opportunity to be active. She and Broun just bought their first home in Houston and now spend their evenings riding tricycles in the cul de sac with their three children Georgia (4), Nate(3) and Pearce (1).
Angel Uribe is a resident associate pastor at ICAR (Iglesia Cristiana Amor y Restracion), home to our Spring Branch campus. He has a B.A. in Liberal Studies, concentration in mathematics, from California Polytechnic University and a Master of Arts, Education, from Azusa Pacific University. He and his lovely wife, Fernie, are California natives and parents to four Paratus students. They are an adventurous family and love to spend their weekends exploring their new home, Texas, and spending time together as a family. Angel and Fernie have a heart for ministry and imparting God's love and truth to both Paratus students and the growing ministry at ICAR.

Joe Deegan was born and raised in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and graduated with a degree in English/Secondary Education from the University of North Alabama. He moved to Houston in 2009 and spent seven years working as a youth minister at Christ the King Presbyterian Church, and has spent his last working as a singer/songwriter and leading children’s worship at his church. Joe’s wife Leah also teaches second grade at Paratus. They have been married for five years now and have three kids—Ellie (3 ½), Sam (2), and Will (6 months). Joe loves music, basketball and road trips with his family, and he will gladly spend hours talking about college football with anyone who’s willing to listen.
Music & Choir - Stephanie Cook graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baylor University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. While at Baylor, she was a member of Baylor Showtime!, a touring musical theatre ensemble, as well as studying private voice and piano, and singing with the Baylor A Capella Choir. After graduation, she taught Junior High Choir in the public schools for five years. Her choirs received consistent Sweepstakes Ratings at U.I.L. Sight-Reading and Concert Contest each year. She also directed several musical productions while teaching. Stephanie serves as a contract judge for U.I.L. Solo and Ensemble Competitions, Clinician preparing choirs for festivals and contests, and Choreographer for concert performances. Stephanie is passionate about music education and teaching students to use their gifts to bring glory and honor to the Lord. Stephanie’s favorite role is wife to Craig and Mommy to Caleb, Luke, Beth, Bonnie and baby Sister arriving in October.
Chinese - Gloria (Yi-Chun) Sheng graduated with a bachelor's degree in Finance from Rutgers University. After graduation she worked at a personal wealth management firm in New York City right and then became a project manager at an import company. She tutored in college, taught children's Sunday school program, VBS, after school program, children's choir and Chinese school at churches, and has helped coordinate and teach at English summer camp programs in Beijing, China for under-privileged high school students. She enjoys listening to and singing, playing piano, spending quality time with family and friends, playing with our cats (Abu and her new born kittens), and grocery shopping with my husband.
Spanish Pk - 3rd - Leti Lusk has been with Paratus since its inception as the Spanish teacher. She graduated from UT with a Bachelor of Journalism degree and after college moved to Houston and worked at Second Baptist Church. She served in a leadership capacity with the High School and Hispanic ministries during her 10 years on staff. She is married to Chaz Lusk and has two boys, Saber (3rd grade) and Emry (1st) who also attend Paratus. She has a passion for students to not only love the Spanish language, but, also, the people who speak it so that true relationships may be forged and the glory of Christ proclaimed. She enjoys reading, traveling and time with her family.
Centers, Art, & Art History - Jan Hoskins grew up in the small mountain town of Manitou Springs, CO. where I graduated and started her first career in retail, as a store manager throughout Colorado, New Mexico and Texas for 23 years. She met her husband Chuck, in at church in Houston and were married in 2001 and have been blessed with two children, Blaze and Tess. Her hobbies include event planning, reading, cooking, and painting.

Overview of the Teacher Requirements:
- College degree
- On campus from 7:30am until 4pm on Monday and Wednesday through 4th Grade and Monday through Wednesday for 5th and up during the 32 week academic year
- In-Service Days at the beginning and end of each semester
- Monthly Meetings on Fridays during academic year
- Maintain contact with parents as needed on the satellite days
- Spanish or Chinese language is a plus
