The Admissions Process at Paratus is personal and thorough.
Paratus requires that at least one parent attend the preview meeting. If possible, we prefer that both parents be in attendance before submitting an application for enrollment. During the Paratus Preview, representatives from our faculty will provide a brief presentation about our school philosophy and practices. Following the Q&A, there will be a campus tour.
Step 1) - Panther Preview
Attending an Panther Preview is a parents first step in the admissions process. We frequently have meetings where parents can interact with faculty to determine if Paratus is a right for your family. It is best if both parents can attend this initial introduction to our program.
Step 2) - Prayer
Paratus desires to connect with families that share our value system in regards to University-Model® Education, Classical methodologies, and the God-given responsibility for parents to disciple and train their children. Please be prayerful about your decision.
Step 3) - Apply
Visit our online forms & fill an application. After application submission and initial review by the admission staff, you will receive and invoice for the application fee with a link for online payment, which may take a few weeks during peak times.
Step 4 ) - Interview & Acceptance
To determine whether families are a great fit for Paratus, a representative from our admissions committee will spend one-on-one time with both the parents and prospective students, if students are Logic or Rhetoric stage. We would love to meet you & we'll use this meeting to get to know one another. The interview serves both parents and faculty alike to gage a school life balance and alignment. After that meeting, the admissions committee with meet and determine if an offer of enrollment will be offered, which will be communicated to the family via email.
Step 5) - Placement & Registration
Since Paratus is focused on challenging students at the individual level, some students, depending on age and/or grade level, may require placement testing to determine best where they fit within our curriculum. Once students are tested and placed, families will then receive an enrollment package to register their student(s). The evening before our first day of classes we will have a Student Orientation where your child can meet his/her teacher, as well as other students, and visit the classroom.
Step 6) - Prepare for School
A satellite teacher training day(s) will allow you to sit down with your student's teacher(s) to understand the scope-and-sequence of the curriculum. You will, of course, receive on-going leadership from the teachers on a day-to-day basis in regards to the assignments; therefore, this time will serve as an overview to help parents understand what to expect from satellite study days. You will also receive all your books, uniforms, and other materials during these training days.
